Why is it every time something happens around here and I need a little help I find myself heading down to the Icy Unicorn. The people who frequent the place are kind of people who help, not out of the kindness of their hearts, but for the gold or other dark reasons. When a man from the Kelty and Son’s traveling circus and freak of nature show told me that some group attacked the wagons and freed all the creatures I knew I needed help. I went to my desk poured myself a glass of liquid courage, slammed it down and headed out the door. Entering the Icy Unicorn I noticed the warrior Steve was present along with the spellcaster Gritz and Cliticus the elf. I described the situation and explained about the attack on the wagons. The son of the owner was a man named Mike Kelty, he was willing to pay with gold or magic items to anyone who captured and returned the lost circus animal. In addition to Steve, Gritz and Cliticus two other men stepped forward. Complete opposites. The first man was what I believed to be a Paladin, the second man was dressed in black clothing that even covered most of his face. Their names were Arc and Kukito respectively. The group all agreed to help and headed out to the site of the accident.
During the day I received a complaint from one of the locals. Old Phil said he attacked a metal snake under his house with an old pitchfork. He said the snake was so tough the pitchfork broke.
When the adventures returned I told them of the snake over at old Phil’s place. They took off right away.
Couple of hours later Old Phil came by and he was pissed. He told me the adventures captured the snake, but the hacked a hole in the middle of his kitchen. He wanted to know what I was going to do about.
Now I remember why I don’t like to go to the Icy Unicorn for help.
